Job Description

•    Assess individual's current exercise program and level of fitness to develop personalized exercise programs and provide fitness counseling
•    Provide advice to individuals on the correct method of exercising with fitness equipment
•    Provide information, register, and schedule guests for recreation activities
•    Instruct group fitness classes (e.g., aerobics, spinning, strength training) at all ability levels
•    Clean and maintain recreational area, equipment, and supplies
•    Call Maintenance or an outside service company if machines require service
•    Assist the Director of SPA in in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, coaching and other employees functions on a daily basis 
•    Support with training, coaching and developing the Fitness team in order to support associate development and engagement 
•    Serve as a role model
•    Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the Director of SPA
•    complete safety training and certifications
 

Qualifications

•    1 year previous experience in a similar role in a luxury environment desirable 
•    A recognised level fitness qualification or higher education sport, fitness, or leisure related degree required
•    Additional qualifications, eg. Yoga, Crossfit, etc, would be an asset
•    Experience in instructing and leading exercise in an adult fitness setting, using proper form and spotting techniques
•    Experience in administering, health risk and history, wellness assessments, and client consultations would be an asset
•    Capable and dedicated to delivering high levels of guest care
•    A smart, polished and professional appearance
•    A hands-on professional passionate and inspired by all things fitness and wellness related
•    A warm, people-oriented demeanour 
•    A team-first attitude   
•    Positive outlook and outgoing personality 
•    Flexibility, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking ability  
•    Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•    Fluent English and Spanish
