Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of the assigned markets. The primary objective is to drive optimal occupancy levels, maximize revenue across all markets, and consistently meet or exceed the hotel’s profitability goals.
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing, and within the limits of established Sales policies and procedures, Assist all aspects of the Sales activities. Responsibilities include assisting the planning and development and implementation of the Sales plan and reporting on effectiveness of the plan. Promotes the work culture and the company’s core values.
Business Performance
- Lead the development and execution of strategic sales action plans to drive revenue growth—prepare key reports including monthly performance updates, annual sales targets, budgets, and forecasts to support data-driven decision making.
- Monitor and analyze monthly sales performance against targets, identifying opportunities and gaps to proactively realign strategies and maximize results.
- Actively contribute to leadership meetings, presenting sales insights and progress to ensure alignment with broader business goals and shaping the department’s annual roadmap to exceed commercial objectives.
As Sales Manager for the resort, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue, growing market share, and positioning the property as a preferred destination across key markets. The role demands a proactive, strategic, and client-focused approach with a strong understanding of the luxury resort landscape.
- Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, guest feedback, and booking behavior to identify areas for growth and adaptation.
- Evaluate the success of existing sales initiatives and design innovative strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Represent the resort in high-level client meetings, sales presentations, familiarization trips, and property site inspections.
- Continuously assess guest demographics and competitor offerings to recommend enhancements in services, promotions, or positioning.
- Support in implementation of action plans that align with business objectives, ensuring all team efforts contribute to achieving revenue goals.
- Offer commercial insight and recommendations to senior management on sales strategies, market segmentation, and product development.
- Conceptualize and launch targeted campaigns to boost ADR, occupancy, off-peak demand
- Research new and emerging markets by reviewing historical booking data, guest profiles, surveys, and industry publications.
- Support the creation of new packages, room categories, and service offerings aligned with guest trends and market demand.
- Ensure brand standards are upheld in all sales materials and communications, with a sharp focus on visual and messaging consistency.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by the reporting Manager
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the reporting Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 3-4 years of prior experience in Sales within a luxury resort environment, preferably with experience in the Maldives or Indian Ocean region.
- Proven success in handling international markets (e.g. Europe & CIS) and working with high-end travel agencies, luxury tour operators, and independent luxury travel advisors.
- Familiarity and understanding of PMS/CRS systems used in luxury hospitality.
- Comfortable with data-driven decision-making; able to analyze sales trends, forecast demand, and prepare performance reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members, and stakeholders.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and internal teams.
