Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general guidance of the Director of Spa, assist in ensuring that all guests receive high quality, personalized service home-care well-being program and to perform therapy treatments for the members and guests and assist in promoting and marketing the Spa

Duties & Functions:

  • Be responsible for spa treatment consultations and identification of possible contraindications.
  • Be responsible for performing beauty therapy treatments, massage and body therapy treatments and specialized treatments for the members and guests to the required standard and provide guests with home-care well-being program.
  • Be responsible for after care advice for the member of guest
  • Be responsible for achieving retail sales
  • Ensure that all treatment rooms and therapy back of house areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ensure that all equipment is serviced as part of a preventative maintenance program
  • Carry out spa tours and spa consultations with guests and members, giving personalized advice and promote facilities, treatments and products
  • Assist during spa promotions and events
  • Assist with marketing and public relations
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
  • Ensure correct records are kept for member and guest visits, treatments and purchases
  • Ensure correct information is recorded for stock control in accordance with the Senior Therapist
  • Be responsible for treatment laundry stock inventory and security
  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified
  • Ensure that all staff within the department works in a manner, unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to themselves or others.
  • Ensure therapists are trained to brand standard and following all SOP
  • Track and control professional product usage
  • Inspect and maintain all areas of the spa including reception
  • Inventory control along with the Director of Spa.
  • Assist Spa Supervisor with all tasks in their absence
  • Mystery shop the therapist and reception teams
  • Linen inventory and control
  • Answer the phone promptly and use the guest’s name throughout the phone conversation.
  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves spa facilities.
  • Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for scheduling tours, spa day packages, treatments and personal training.
  • Carry out spa tours and spa consultations with guests and members, giving personalized advice and promote facilities, treatments and products.
  • Responsible for the sale of gift vouchers and their redemption.
  • Responsible for pre and post treatment advice for clients when booking appointments.
  • Responsible for stating important contraindications when booking appointments.
  • Schedule bookings for the members and guests to the required standard.
  • Ensure that all new clients fill in a spa consultation card and keep this record updated with current information on the Book4Time system.
  • Ensure that all spa reception areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ensure that all equipment is serviced as part of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Responsible for achieving retail sales.
  • Responsible for processing bill payments and receipts.
  • Be an example to the staff of personalized service, positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Assist during spa promotions and events.
  • Ensure all displays are changed regularly.
  • Properly open and close spa each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Attend spa staff meetings.
  • Attend required training courses and seminars.
  • Responsible for all retail stock security.
  • Responsible for recording all the necessary information in the spa Book4Time computer system.
  • Responsible for cancellation bookings and waiting list for members and guests.
  • Responsible for recording member and guest comments.
  • Ensure correct records are kept for member and guest visits, treatments and purchases.
  • Responsible for all daily takings and usage reports

 

 

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Possess active license or certification in related field
  • One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.

Physical Abilities:

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 kg          without assistance
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
