Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our team at our luxurious resort in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As an integral part of our housekeeping department, you will assist the Director of Housekeeping in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout our property.
- Support the Director of Housekeeping in managing all aspects of the department, including public areas and laundry facilities
- Perform daily inspections of guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure exceptional cleanliness standards are met
- Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff, providing clear communication, coaching, and performance feedback
- Assist in implementing and maintaining efficient housekeeping procedures and protocols
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and special requests
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction
- Oversee the lost and found system, ensuring proper logging and handling of items
- Assist in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in upscale hotel housekeeping management
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a collaborative approach
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Previous high volume luxury hotel or resort experience required including pre-opening experience
- Proven track record of maintaining high cleanliness standards in a hospitality setting
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of hotel room management systems (e.g., HotSoS, Opera)
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg) when necessary
- Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Adaptability and resilience in handling various challenges in a dynamic work environment
