Job Description

As a Barista at Mama Shelter, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our customers. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and other beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for coffee will help us deliver the exceptional service our customers have come to expect. 

**Key Responsibilities:** 

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages. 

- Ensure consistency and quality in every cup by following our established recipes and techniques. 

- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and answering any questions they may have. 

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and following sanitation guidelines. 

- Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers with precision and care. 

- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system accurately. 

- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed. 

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment. 

- Stay informed about coffee trends and continuously improve your knowledge and skills through training and practice. 

Qualifications

 

- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred. 

- Passion for coffee and a strong desire to learn more about coffee preparation and brewing techniques. 

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers. 

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. 

- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and operating the point-of-sale system. 

- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as bags of coffee beans and milk containers. 

- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
