Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Steward to join our team in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. As a Steward, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and customer satisfaction.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods
- Transport clean items to their designated storage areas promptly and efficiently
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas for various functions and events
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service
- Properly dispose of trash and recyclables from kitchen and dining areas
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by kitchen management
- Participate in regular cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred
- Ability to operate industrial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers and cleaning machinery
- Physical stamina to perform constant lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, and kneeling
- Capability to carry items weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe working environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and management
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic understanding of food safety principles and practices
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
