Groups, Meetings & Events Coordinator
The Hoxton, Lloyd | Oostelijke Handelskade 34, 1019 BN Amsterdam, Netherlands
Company Description
Amsterdam, a city so good we had to double down! In 2023 we have opened our second Hoxton in Amsterdam, this time based in the Eastern Docklands where we are lovingly taken the reins of the historic former Lloyd Hotel. This beautiful property features 136 bedrooms, including the introduction of some new rooms categories for the Hox, a large ground floor restaurant and huge outdoor terrace, a new bar and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.
More about us…
The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.
We’re looking for an outgoing Groups, Meetings & Events Manager to join us at The Hoxton Lloyd, Amsterdam.
Job Description
What you’ll do…
- Lead our busy reactive groups & events team by leading by example and delivering training and support on Hoxton brand standards for all stages of our reactive quoting, contracting and planning journey.
- Have a great understanding of our operation – and support the groups & events team in training on our operation and providing tip-top handovers to the hotel teams in order to deliver incredible guest experiences.
- Work with the Director of Sales on projects and initiatives to drive conversion and identify opportunities for success.
- Provide forecasting and reporting on revenues and business levels and help turn these into strategies and understanding to support the team maximising conversion, driving revenues, and hitting targets.
- Show your keen eye for detail to use, update and train the team on our booking systems: think tracking and following up on enquiries, generating contracts, invoices and function sheets, inputting details for operational handover, taking deposits and tracking payments and keeping an up-to-date database.
- Develop great product knowledge and proactively share this with the team through training and day to day support – become a ‘go to’ person who either knows the answer or where to find it!
- Prioritise developing client relationships and work to truly understand guest needs, while always following up and creating opportunities to develop repeat business.
- Be an ambassador for The Hoxton brand and support the team in keeping the guest experience at the heart of everything we do.
- Actively contribute to a positive team culture as part of a fast-paced department.
- Build strong relationships and communication with other Hoxton teams, championing positive collaboration across the business.
- Keep your thinking cap on at all times, get creative when problem solving and don’t be afraid to challenge the norm – we want your fresh ideas!

- You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
- You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get shit done.

- You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
- It's all about attitude for us, someone who enjoys being helpful to others; that person who makes you feel confident they can answer any question and who you'd want to stop and chat to.
