Job Description

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Head of Bars & Restaurants to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage, the Head of Bars & Restaurants directs the operations of all the Food & Beverage outlets within the hotel. The Head of Bars & Restaurants assures the hotel service is true to the SLS brand by fostering a team culture in which its members feel empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for their workload and professional development. 

  • Ensures high-quality service that meets guest needs promptly and courteously, maximizing satisfaction and encouraging return visits. Regularly assess guest satisfaction levels and implement strategies to exceed expectations. 

  • Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in all restaurants and bars. 

  • Defines service standards and lead the team to consistently meet them. Provides training and guidance to the team on how to deliver the service. 

  • Contributes to the hiring process, conduct performance appraisals, and make personnel-related decisions. 

  • Tracks and control team productivity and operational expenses to ensure profitability. 

  • Ensures that food and beverage products are of the highest quality and presented effectively. 

  • Supports the Director of Food and Beverage in various administrative tasks, including departmental reports and strategic planning. 

  • Establishes clear expectations and holds the food and beverage team accountable for exemplifying desired service standards. 

  • Implements and enforces cash and payment control policies within food & beverage areas, ensuring compliance among staff. 

  • Facilitates the integration of new hires into the department through orientation programs and tailored training initiatives to enable successful job performance. 

  • Focuses on the operational area of the department, being 70% of the work related to operations. 

Qualifications

What we are looking for...

  • Degree with emphasis in Hospitality/Restaurants management. 

  • +4 years experience in hospitality within hotels/restaurants with high volume of food & beverage operations in a management role. 

  • Knowledge of local market will be a plus. 

  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values. 

  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is required 

  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
