Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis III to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a Commis III, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes that meet our exacting standards.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Work efficiently in designated stations as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout service
- Properly portion, prepare, and store ingredients to minimize waste and ensure food safety
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production
- Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes to meet specifications
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Support inventory management by participating in stock rotations and counts
- Contribute to a positive kitchen environment through teamwork and communication
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning
