Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker to join our team and contribute to our innovative culinary offerings. Reporting to the Director of Culinary, this is your chance to bring your creativity and expertise to a vibrant and dynamic hotel environment. This is a Full Time permanent role – 40 hours guaranteed per week.
- Assist the Pastry Team in developing and refining recipes, ensuring consistency by following standardised recipes and specifications.
- Create and bake a variety of high-quality baked goods that align with the Hotel’s standards and delight our guests.
- Ensure all food products are safely handled, stored, and prepared in accordance with hotel policies and government food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery, ensuring full compliance with food safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable and experienced with advanced techniques, including laminating pastry, sourdough, international flatbreads, baguette, pumpernickel, pai bao, soda bread, challah, and more.
- Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef, preferably in a medium to large 5-star hotel environment.
- Innovative and creative in delivering exceptional baked goods that exceed guest expectations.
- Skilled in crafting a wide range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and specialty items.
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude, able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and passionate about hospitality, with a willingness to learn new skills and collaborate effectively with your team.
