Job Description

Under the general guidance of the Commercial Director or any other authorized by the management, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for the creation, development and effective implementation of a Marketing & PR strategy that positions Mondrian Doha as Qatar’s leading Hotel lifestyle brand.

They will have responsibility for expanding Mondrian Doha’s profile on all relevant media channels with a strong emphasis on online social media and digital platforms in order to increase the awareness and exposure of the property and its activities to all target audiences locally, regionally, and internationally.

They will have responsibility for the creation and development of content, hotel promotions and the effective and timely production of marketing materials whilst adhering to Corporate Brand guidelines and standards.

Assist with sales and marketing activities for the leisure market covering but not limited to trade exhibition attendance, relationship building and managing promotions with travel industry bodies from the private and public sectors.

  • Actively pursue and organise press trips and familiarisation trips from relevant market segments
  • Create marketing and communications campaigns and collaterals to pro-actively promote Mondrian Doha
  • Develop a database of local, regional and international publications and media contacts
  • Ensure an effective PR strategy between Mondrian Doha and target markets
  • To initiate creation of events and presentation of information to appeal to media
  • Create and manage current rich content database for use by publications and internal uses
  • Writing and appropriate dissemination of news releases
  • Ensure that all publications and collaterals meet high professional and quality standards according to the company visual identity guide
  • Handle media invitations and other related correspondence
  • To identify and pursue publicity opportunities to enhance the image of Mondrian Doha
  • Forward relevant information to all diary and information pages in all relevant   media.
  • To establish and to maintain an effective working relationship with all members of target media, electronic and print, local, national and international to encourage and maximize coverage of the property and its events
  • To host invited members of the media, strategic partners and top clients at functions and events. 
  • To organize media familiarization trips from other regions
  • Brand Management
  • Preparation of rich content (pictures; images etc) collaterals, marketing and promotional materials as required
  • Planning of Hotel marketing activities to support events and promotions
  • Liaison with external Agencies to produce marketing material for promotions and collaterals as required by the hotel. This includes the preparation of an agency brief, account management and timely follow-ups to ensure on time delivery
  • Oversee brand management within the hotel to ensure quality standards are maintained and that all activities are Brand compliant and Corporate approved
  • Work closely with the F&B Marketing Manager in ensuring relevant marketing activities are being executed
  • Websites and Digital Marketing
  • Update all relevant information and maintain all promotions on a monthly basis
  • To monitor and edit on a timely basis individual hotel websites on CMS. To identify appropriate and relevant search engines and websites to ensure and maintain an effective presence of the property
  • To ensure that all material distributed to relevant websites are updated on regular basis. (e.g. Worldres.com, Hotelbook.com, MP intranet)
  • Employ digital marketing strategies to promote the property
  • Prepare annual communications plan including advertising, collaterals, exhibitions, etc. and as part of the business plan
  • To implement and  maintain an effective filing and administrative system 
  • To establish and to maintain database of all media, publications, printers, designers, publishing contacts and other relevant persons
  • To establish and maintain high quality images of the properties and destination
  • To attend meetings whenever required
  • To coordinate relevant photo shoots within established budgets
  • To make sure that internal administration and communications procedures are according to the company's standards
  • Monthly reports to the regional office on activities undertaken each month
  • Advertising
  • To manage the advertising function in such a way that all advertisements are effective and reflect a positive image of Mondrian Doha
  • To meet the guidelines as set per the company visual brand standards
  • To negotiate the best advertising rates for local, regional and international publications
  • Work with an Advertising Agency in delivering
  • Sponsorship and strategic partnerships
  • Identify and build effective relations with strategic partners from the local and regional private and public sectors
  • Help with sales and marketing activities for exhibitions and road shows
  • Identify events, promotions and partners from the commercial sector to help raise the awareness of the brand and drive new revenue streams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the luxury brand
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, both digital and traditional.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, market positioning, and customer behaviour in the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team of marketing professionals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
