Job Description
Learning & Development Manager
Playing a key role on the Talent and Culture Team, the Learning and Development Manager will ensure and maintain a stable foundation for the succession of colleagues to meet their personal goals, and the future of the business, fostering an ongoing culture of development amongst colleagues and leaders alike.
Job Duties Include:
- Responsible for the coordination and execution of operational training for the hotel, creating and maintaining a monthly training calendar and training checklists
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback and guidance to leaders to ensure consistent and quality on the job training is taking place
- Be active in monitoring the operations, guest and external audit feedback, and ensure operational presence to observe, identify training needs, validate training and program implementation effectiveness
- Facilitate new hire on-boarding, Train the Trainer and other corporate training programs
- Actively monitor onboarding experience, facilitate ongoing check in with new hires, providing feedback to trainers and leaders for effective communication and retention
- Coach and counsel all colleagues on job related issues, career development and performance management, providing performance management support and guidance to leaders
- Act as an internal consultant to provide expert coaching and direction on Talent & Culture policy, programs, employee relations, legislation, employment standards and human rights
Qualifications
- Previous operational hospitality experience, minimum 4 years is required.
- Previous leadership experience is an asset
- Ability to be independent with the ability to influence all levels of the organization; and drive key initiatives while working cohesively as part of a larger team
- Exceptionally organized, disciplined, proactive and innovative
- Proven experience with creating and executing full-cycle processes.
- Knowledge of INES system is mandatory.
