We are currently recruiting for a Head of Groups & Events Planning - London (maternity cover) to lead our reactive London planning team here at The Hoxton.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Lead and manage the London Groups & Events Sales and Short Lead team from recruitment and induction, managing workload & resource distribution, through to training, development plans and reviews.
  • Build up close working relationships with the on-property Operations Teams in both Front of House and Food & Beverage, finding new solutions to ease communications across the teams and looking to bring in efficiency to all existing processes.
  • Maintain and share up-to-date knowledge on Groups and Events performance across all hotels against budget expectations, supporting to achieve where possible.
  • As a key part of the London commercial team, you’ll be collaborating with other departments to agree & implement strategies, drive results and ensure brand alignment, keeping The Hoxton one step ahead of the market.
  • Ensure the Hox client journey is always top of mind; think swift introductions, ensuring close and detailed cooperation with group & event organisers through the planning process, through to post-event follow ups.
  • Ensure up to date planning guidelines are in place & manage our Groups & Events offering to enable upsell opportunities, maximising revenue opportunities where possible.
  • Maintain an excellent level of knowledge of the local events scene in each Hoxton location and feedback any opportunities to explore.
  • Work closely with the London and wider European sales team to improve internal procedures, ensuring our systems are fully configured, enabling your team to operate efficiently.
  • Ensure our internal material – think GME bible, menus, BEOs, Group Memo formats are up to date and on-brand.
  • Get stuck in with everything you’d expect your team to and be ready to react to any curve balls that come your way – from client proposals to admin tasks, we’re an ‘all hands on deck’ team.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Given the scope of the role, we’re looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a managerial position.
  • You’re naturally very detail-orientated and approachable; others look to you for support and direction.
  • You’re a positive go-getter, looking to ‘make your mark’ on this department and passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences.
  • You’re confident under pressure and enjoy independent problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • You lead by example on organisational skills and able to manage your time when it’s in high demand.
  • You’re looking to motivate and lead a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  • You can nurture a team culture where team members feel empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for their workload and professional development.
  • Experience using DELPHI would be an advantage.
  • You’re looking for a challenge and a place where you can be you.
