Job Description

The Revenue Analyst will support the Director of Revenue Management in the development and implementation of effective inventory and pricing strategies based on future demand forecasts, current trends and historical data. A liaison with the On-Line/Digital Manager to maximize the use of the internet as a distribution channel is also part of this role. In cooperation with the Reservations supervisor managing to achieve budgeted and forecasted Rooms Revenue, through the conversion of Reservation calls to sales and upselling, whilst delivering customer satisfaction.  Maintain database accuracy in order to get return correct inventory and rates to market, segment our business property, and track our business to facilitate strategic analysis.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be fluent in the key principles of Pricing Strategies and Revenue Management
  • Ensure Tars & Resaweb are an accurate representation in information, inventory, rates and availability of the PMS
  • Support the Director of Revenue Management through providing accurate information pertaining to the market, forecasting, and other revenue management strategies.
  • Be able to update the daily revenues, participate in the daily operations meeting and take on other Revenue Management duties in the absence of the Director of Revenue Management
  • Work closely with the Sales Department to ensure Reservations are handled diligently and accurately to ensure accurate forecasting and pricing.
  • Channel Sales opportunities to the Sales Department
  • Assist in the preparation of 30-60-90 day fully updated Forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Action Rate Solicitations as directed and maintain rate plans in both TARS and Opera.
  • Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand the impact of relative pricing decisions on property performance. Perform competitor checks and report as appropriate.
  • Support the DORM/RM in effective implementation of The Revenue Management Standards, Policies & Procedures. (Rate Plans, Rate Categories, Market Segmentation, Profiles and all other PMS related RM functionality.)
  • Responsible for the accurate divisional and corporate standard for the PMS and TARS
  • Take a leading role in all property PMS Conversions
  • Liaise daily with the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Sales & Marketing regarding business in the books and the strategy for the day.
  • Convey customer feedback to assist the Director of Revenue Management and Sales Teams in pricing and sales strategies.
  • Review and analyze data on an ongoing and end of month basis.  Provide monthly report on production, trends, booking and stay patterns as well as channel analysis. Evaluation of the distribution channel performance (costs, commissions, number of reservations, revenue) and potential reasons for this performance.
  • Analyze competitive reports and formulate appropriate suggestions for strategies through use of OTA Insight, Demand360 and STR. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of forecasting and interpreting/analyzing results to plan and conducting budgetary analysis
  • Strong organizational skills including follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
