JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the general guidance of the F&B Manager, the Barback is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the bar by ensuring it is fully stocked, clean, and organized. This role is essential in maintaining a seamless service experience, upholding brand standards, and assisting the bar team in delivering exceptional hospitality to guests.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support bartenders by restocking the bar with necessary supplies, including ice, garnishes, glassware, and alcohol.
  • Maintain cleanliness behind the bar by wiping down surfaces, washing glassware, and disposing of trash.
  • Assist in preparing garnishes and organizing mixers to ensure efficient service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management when supplies are running low.
  • Help with setting up the bar for special events, including organizing cocktail supplies and ensuring the bar area is clean and ready for guests.
  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations, including maintaining proper handling and storage of alcohol and perishables.
  • Assist with closing duties, such as cleaning the bar area, organizing storage, and preparing for the next service.
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. 
  • We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to, on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in hospitality or mixology are beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a bar or hospitality role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor to enhance guest experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
  • Additional language ability preferred.
  • All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department  uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
