Job Description
At SLS Red Sea, every light, switch, and circuit plays a part in creating unforgettable guest experiences. Behind the design and luxury, our Engineering team ensures that electrical systems run safely, seamlessly, and efficiently across the property. We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to keep the power flowing and our guests comfortable, 24/7.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems while supporting other trades where needed. From guest rooms to back-of-house, your expertise will ensure safety, reliability, and the high standards expected of the SLS brand.
Main Responsibilities
- Responding promptly to service calls and electrical maintenance requests to minimize disruption to guests and operations.
- Diagnosing faults using electrical testing tools, repairing or replacing wiring, switches, outlets, lighting, breakers, and control panels.
- Installing and maintaining electrical systems across the property, ensuring compliance with safety codes and fire/life safety standards.
- Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure systems remain reliable.
- Supporting hotel operations by maintaining lighting systems, power distribution, emergency backup systems, and energy-saving devices.
- Identifying potential hazards, escalating issues, and making recommendations for corrective action.
- Carrying out minor plumbing support such as clearing clogs, replacing fittings, fixing leaks, and installing sanitary fixtures when required.
- Reading and interpreting building plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide accurate installations and repairs.
- Coordinating with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on cross-trade projects, ensuring work meets SLS standards and deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate logs of repairs, parts used, and follow-up actions for accountability and planning.
- Promoting a safe working environment by strictly following electrical safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and risk assessments.
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, fostering teamwork and a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrician in a hospitality, residential, or commercial facility.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring codes.
- Experience in basic plumbing works and sanitary installations is a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to read electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and building schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to precision and quality.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a multicultural team environment.
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights or in confined spaces if required.
- Flexible with working hours, including shifts, weekends, and emergency calls.
