Job Description

Food Safety & Hygiene Officer

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Food Safety & Hygiene Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with food handling departments and the Food Safety & Hygiene Manager to oversee and implement food safety and hygiene standards in all our food outlets ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of food production processes, facilities, and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Train and educate employees on food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of food safety programs and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Investigate food safety incidents, complaints, and non-conformities, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless implementation of food safety initiatives.
  • Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry trends and ensure that our practices are up to date and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food safety activities, inspections, and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) is required.
  • Proven experience in a food safety or quality assurance role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and educate employees at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
