Job Description
As a Commis I at DELANO Dubai, you will support the kitchen brigade in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and attention to detail. You will play an important role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations while developing your culinary skills within a luxury hospitality environment.
- Food Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and brand standards
- Mise-en-Place: Ensure your station is fully set, organised, and ready for efficient service execution
- Service Assistance: Support senior chefs during service by completing tasks accurately and promptly under guidance
- Quality Standards: Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portioning in line with DELANO standards
- Hygiene & Safety: Follow strict HACCP, hygiene, and food safety procedures, ensuring a clean and compliant workstation
- Stock Handling: Assist with proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce waste
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Demi Chef de Partie and Chef de Partie to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Skill Development: Actively learn and develop culinary techniques under the supervision of senior kitchen team members
- Kitchen Discipline: Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Operational Support: Assist with general kitchen duties to ensure efficiency and consistency across service periods
Qualifications
- Luxury Experience: Previous experience as a Commis I or Commis II in a luxury hotel, high-end restaurant, or similar environment preferred
- Culinary Foundation: Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and presentation standards
- Hygiene Knowledge: Understanding of basic food safety and HACCP principles
- Team Player: Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a structured kitchen brigade
- Adaptability: Able to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Educational Background: A formal culinary qualification or international culinary training is preferred, with strong technical foundations.
