Director, Compensation & Benefits
We are looking for a dynamic leader who is truly passionate about all aspects of human resources operations, and who has a strategic vision, and an exceptional ability to drive results for both employees and the brand, to communicate effectively, and to inspire others.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure fair and accurate compensation, including regular salaries, bonuses, pensions, and any additional types of employee benefits.
- Coordinate with Director of Talent Acquisition and other People & Culture teams to ensure that job offers are both based on market rate and have internal equity.
- Evaluate every position and determine the proper market value for each job.
- Monitor internal equity and analytics.
- Build bonus structures, discretionary and non-discretionary.
- Determine all benefits extended to our teams.
- Benchmark current policies to ensure competitiveness.
- Develop compensation and benefits strategies and plans
- Ensure faultless implementation of compensation and benefits policies
- Collaborate with all department heads to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the annual salary review process.
- Lead the payroll and benefits teams.
- Empower and assist departmental Leaders and Senior Managers with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in employee feedback
- Oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, welfare benefits; and morale.
- Collaborate on the development of annual Talent & Culture budget and manage day-to-day expenses, month-end reporting, and forecasting of Talent & Culture accounts.
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resources information system (HRIS) and talent management system.
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Challenge the status quo on how we can improve the way we do things to create an even better guest and employee experience.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Empower and assist with all employee events.
- Ensure compliance with Accor/Fairmont policies and local legislation in all aspects of the human resources function. Conduct appropriate audits

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; compensation certificate preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of Human Resources Management experience
- Previous experience in hospitality setting an asset
- Expert knowledge of accounting.
- Excellent communication skills
- Conflict resolution and change management skills
- Good budgeting and forecasting ability, with business acumen
- Knowledge of expense management
- Excellent people skills
