Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
The Bartender prepares and serves cocktails, wines, and premium spirits while delivering a refined and engaging guest experience. The role requires strong mixology skills, product knowledge, and the ability to create personalized, memorable interactions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty beverages according to exact recipes and standards.
Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and service timing across all drinks.
Develop signature cocktails and provide tailored beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.
Deliver warm, engaging, and knowledgeable service throughout guest interactions.
Set up and close the bar efficiently at the beginning and end of each shift.
Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, and ice in advance to support smooth service.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Polish and rotate glassware to ensure flawless presentation.
Inspect and maintain bar tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Monitor inventory levels of beverages and supplies, ensuring timely restocking.
Support end-of-shift stock counts and maintain accurate usage records.
Engage guests with strong product knowledge, offering informed recommendations and upselling premium options.
Observe guest needs and respond proactively to maintain service flow.
Handle guest feedback or concerns professionally and escalate when required.
Collaborate effectively with barbacks, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Assist team members with restocking and maintaining service areas during peak periods.
Support onboarding and training of new team members on bar procedures and standards.
Process payments accurately using the POS system and ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol service regulations.
Follow safety protocols, including spill management, glass handling, and emergency procedures.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menus, seasonal offerings, and food pairings.
Contribute ideas for cocktail innovation and seasonal menu development.
Promote premium products and pairings to enhance guest experience and drive revenue.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Previous experience as a Bartender in a high-volume or luxury hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology techniques, wines, beers, and spirits.
Understanding of bar operations, stock control, and service procedures.
Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling processes.
Certification in food safety, hygiene, and responsible alcohol service (as required by local regulations).
Training in hospitality or mixology is an advantage.
