SO/ Budapest will open towards the end of 2026 and our search for an experienced Executive Chef to join our team and play a crucial part in this successful opening begins.
Located in a prime position overlooking the iconic Chain Bridge and the Danube River, SO/ Budapest Hotel is a bold new addition to the city’s luxury hospitality scene. The hotel features 349 elegantly designed rooms and suites, complemented by a vibrant mix of dining and entertainment experiences. Guests can enjoy an all-day dining restaurant, a show-stopping rooftop bar with panoramic views, and extensive wellness facilities that offer a space for both relaxation and rejuvenation.
Designed with both leisure and business travellers in mind, the hotel also boasts state-of-the-art MICE facilities, making it a key destination for events, meetings, and social gatherings in the heart of the city.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will take on the crucial role of leading and implementing the menu and food design for our hotel.
Job Description
What you’ll do…
- Lead a large, dynamic kitchen team in one of the most exciting restaurants to open in Budapest
- Drive innovation and create a new innovative menu
- Have a firm grip on the costs of the restaurant kitchen, from labour through to always striving to find efficient solutions whilst maintaining the quality and integrity of the menu
- Both guest and team experience will be at the heart of all you do. You’ll lead your team by example, keeping them involved and motivated; helping them feel empowered and supported, confident in providing top experiences for our guests and comfortable turning to you with questions
Qualifications
What we’re looking for…
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar Exec Chef role in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority
- Proven track record managing large kitchen teams and ideally experience of a new opening.
- A true passion for creativity whilst maintaining the integrity of our brand standards through the dishes on the menu.
- Ideally you will have pre-opening experience
- Someone who has worked on large scale events and is always looking at new ways to surprise and delight our guests.
- Passion for hospitality – you’re all about creating memorable experiences for others, be they guests or colleagues.
- You want to question the norm and create change by doing things differently.
- You’re grounded, we leave our egos at the door and approach everything with an open mind
