Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Duty Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all building systems and equipment within our facility. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage a team and respond to various technical challenges.

• Monitor and maintain the normal operation of all equipment to ensure safe and efficient functioning
• Coordinate and supervise planned maintenance activities carried out by contractors and in-house technicians
• Lead a team of managers, supervisors, and technicians to deliver high-quality support for the property
• Direct routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations
• Respond promptly to emergencies and take a lead role in resolving critical issues
• Ensure proper record-keeping of all maintenance activities, testing, and work requests
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth operations throughout the facility
• Recommend and implement key service standards for the engineering department
• Assist in budget preparation and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and service quality
• Stay updated on local regulations and ensure compliance in all engineering activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or facilities management industry
• Extensive knowledge of building services, systems, and equipment maintenance
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proven ability to handle emergency situations and make quick, effective decisions
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Familiarity with energy conservation practices and sustainability initiatives
• Knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations is a plus
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
