Join our culinary team as a Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry in the vibrant city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to assist in creating exquisite pastries and desserts that delight our guests and showcase the best of international culinary trends.
- Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency and quality standards
- Collaborate with the pastry team to develop new and innovative dessert concepts
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff members
- Participate in menu planning and development meetings
- Adapt recipes to accommodate various dietary restrictions and allergies
- Contribute to the overall success of the pastry department by maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation
- Proficiency in using various pastry equipment and tools
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Understanding of various dietary restrictions and food allergies
- Familiarity with international pastry trends and techniques
- Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on pastry arts is preferred
- Current food safety certification
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Adaptability to work in a multicultural environment, typical of Dubai's hospitality industry
