Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Commis 2 to join our culinary team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Commis 2, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes whilst adhering to food safety standards.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef's instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
  • Support in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
  • Participate in kitchen team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively during peak hours

Qualifications

  • Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting
  • Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Valid food safety certification
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is desirable
  • Basic English language skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
