Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Commis 2 to join our culinary team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Commis 2, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes whilst adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef's instructions
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
- Support in inventory management and stock rotation
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
- Participate in kitchen team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively during peak hours
Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Valid food safety certification
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is desirable
- Basic English language skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
