Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a key member of our bar staff, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional drinking experience for our guests, preparing and serving a wide range of beverages whilst maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

• Greet customers, take orders, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with a friendly and professional demeanour
• Prepare a variety of cocktails, mixed drinks, and other beverages according to recipes and customer preferences
• Maintain a clean and organised bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Monitor and restock bar inventory, placing orders when necessary
• Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit card transactions
• Recommend beverages to customers based on their preferences and pair drinks with menu items when appropriate
• Ensure responsible alcohol service by monitoring customer consumption and adhering to legal requirements
• Collaborate with kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food and drink orders
• Assist in creating seasonal drink menus and speciality cocktails
• Maintain knowledge of current beverage trends and mixology techniques

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a bartender in a high-volume establishment
• Extensive knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and current beverage trends
• Proficiency in using bar equipment and tools
• Strong understanding of alcohol safety and responsible service practices
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and courteous in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Basic maths skills for cash handling and inventory management
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 20 kg)
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and wait staff
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Vietnamese or other languages is advantageous
• Relevant bartending certifications are desirable but not required
