Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Stewarding Supervisor to join our team in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our kitchen and food service areas. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards
  • Train and mentor stewarding staff on proper procedures, equipment usage, and chemical handling
  • Assist in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, and equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment
  • Coordinate with other departments to support smooth kitchen operations and event setups
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures for cleanliness and sanitation
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the stewarding department
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' recent experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a high-volume setting
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry
  • Food Safety Level 2 certification or equivalent (essential)
  • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) certification or willingness to obtain
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
  • In-depth knowledge of safe working procedures for hazardous materials and kitchen equipment
  • Proven track record of achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Impeccable personal grooming and presentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes in a kitchen environment
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to food service operations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg when necessary
