Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at our prestigious hotel in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction levels.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring all departments work cohesively to deliver outstanding guest experiences
- Act as a role model for staff, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and professional conduct
- Manage and resolve guest complaints and concerns promptly and effectively
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff, including reception, concierge, and housekeeping teams
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures
- Coordinate with various departments to address operational issues and implement improvements
- Handle check-in and check-out procedures, room assignments, and special guest requests
- Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel
- Assist in training and developing team members to enhance their skills and performance
- Manage shift handovers, ensuring clear communication of important information
- Generate and analyse reports on key performance indicators, occupancy rates, and guest feedback
- Support other areas of the hotel during peak times or as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to approach guests and build relationships
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanour under pressure
- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera PMS or similar systems)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per business demands
- Thorough knowledge of hotel operations, guest service standards, and industry best practices
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken (knowledge of Vietnamese or other languages is a plus)
- Dedication to maintaining high standards of customer service and attention to detail
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions in challenging situations
- Familiarity with local attractions and services in Phu Quoc to assist guests with inquiries
