Job Description

Job Purpose:

 The Barista is an engaging and enthusiastic ambassador for the restaurant and hotel, makes recommendations to guests based on verbal and non-verbal cues, and is a passionate salesperson for our menu. The Barista works accurately efficiently, expertly prioritizes and works to exceed guest expectations.

Duties & Functions:            

  • Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift.
  • Follows all steps of service.
  • Knows drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
  • Can speak confidently and enthusiastically on menu items.
  • Makes all coffee and tea drinks on the menu with enthusiasm and care.
  • Serves beverages and food in a cheerful and efficient manner.
  • Ensures that service and cash wrap stations are properly stocked.
  • Runs room service to hotel guests as needed.
  • Completes daily inventory and inform servers/managers of any changes.
  • Accurately and efficiently uses POS to ring guest’s orders, accept payment and close checks.
  • Labels, stocks and merchandises items in gift shop.
  • Completes all posted opening/closing duties and side work.
  • Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with team members & guests.
  • Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the gift shop and restaurant service area.
  • Follow all proper sanitation guidelines.
  • Verifies guests are at least 21 years of age when purchasing a beverage containing alcohol.
  • Sells beverages responsibly with customer’s best interest in mind.
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.  We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional service
